Wings of Faith Fellowship VBS
Vacation Bible School at Wings of Faith was a huge success! Over one hundred volunteers stepped up to work in various capacities such as Station Leaders, Crew Leaders, Registration, Music, Drama, Games, Snacks, Crafts, Security and being “runners.” We salute you all! The average attendance each night was right at 200 children (150 elementary aged and 50 preschoolers). We ministered to over 250 children in total and witnessed more than 100 raise their hands as a sign that they wanted to accept Jesus as their Savior. To God be the glory!!
Gloryhill Cowboy Church VBS

Now we turn our attention to the Vacation Bible School program at Gloryhill Cowboy Church in Valdosta, GA. Our team will consist of eight persons from Wings of Faith, some of whom were participants in the Gloryhill VBS last year when we introduced the GCC to “VBS Wings-style.” This year GCC is taking the lead and our team is coming alongside to assist them.
It is truly exciting to see something you have helped bring into being take on a life of its own. Please pray with us that the lives of the children in Valdosta will be impacted by this program, too.
Wings of Faith Fellowship Missions Conference
- September 28-30, 2012
The last weekend in September will mark the 18th year since the inception of the Wings of Faith World Missions Program. We are excited to have as our keynote speaker, Dr. Samuel Chand, former president and chancellor of Beulah Heights University, Atlanta, GA and currently a board member of EQUIP, John Maxwell’s ministry to develop leaders. Being raised in a pastor’s home in India and his life experiences have given Dr. Chand a unique perspective on ministry around the globe. We are blessed to have him speak into our lives this year.
Also ministering in the conference we are blessed to have Pastor Richard Derrick Notice as the Friday evening speaker. Pastor Notice is a Jamaica national with a thriving ministry in the Orlando area. Dr. Chand and Pastor Notice, along with several of our missionaries will bring us a truly multi-cultural experience. Guatemala VBS / Construction Trip
- August 6-11, 2012
- Cost: $2,000
Please be in prayer for our team going to Guatemala in August. The airline tickets are being purchased next week and the discipleship program for the team will begin shortly. There are 19 persons who will be making this journey. We are anticipating a great time working with Joshua and Jessica Hanson, ministering to the 50 children of Casa Shalom orphanage and painting and working on the buildings.
The children’s ministry will take the form of a Vacation Bible School program in the morning for the elementary aged children, “love on” the infants in the afternoons and interact with the teens in the evening after they return from school.
The construction will consist of painting the interior of the “baby” house and adding “faux brick” to the outside of the building. We have been told that the climate there necessitates “annual” repainting of the buildings. This modification to the exterior will help minimize the need for future exterior maintenance.
Diane and I could use your help. For the two of us the trip will be $2,000.00. Would you consider helping to meet this need, enabling us to show His love to some of the orphaned children in Guatemala. Thank You!
Haiti Construction Trip
- November 8-15, 2012
- Cost: $1,350
It is uncertain at this time what particular project the team will do, but as an example, the past two years we have helped various orphanages with repairs and improvements needed on their compounds. We have been in contact with the ministry we assisted before and also with a US church which operates a ministry in a different area of the country to see if there is a need for us to work at their facility.
There is space available on this team for people who would like to come alongside those ministering in this country struck by the earthquake in January 2010.
Christmas in Romania Trip

Since 1992 Diane has made annual trips to the Transylvania region of Romania, sharing the love of Jesus at Christmastime to young and old. You can be a part of this outpouring of God’s love. You will visit and minister in “off the beaten path” villages, children’s homes, a daycare center for handicapped adults, and share in a Sunday service with a Romanian congregation. God’s love will be dispensed “physically” through the distribution of staple foods, fruit, hygiene items, and toys for the kids. Contact us about experiencing Christmas In Romania.
Gloryhill Cowboy Church VBS Report
WOW!! We give God praise for the successful Vacation Bible School outreach at the Gloryhill Cowboy Church in Valdosta, GA! Our team of eight from Wings of Faith Fellowship, Ocala, FL worked tirelessly and were rewarded for their efforts with a truly wonderful VBS program!
Arriving on Wednesday afternoon, we met with the workers from GCC and began decorating the church. Thursday morning the preparation was concluded and that evening the fun began. Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday morning and early afternoon, we ministered to 37 elementary-aged kids. Some came from a summer “horse camp” to participate. There were 11 who raised their hands stating their desire for Jesus to become Lord of their lives. We praise God for them and pray that this will be the beginning of a life-long walk with Him.
Gloryhill is a rather unique ministry. They are “cowboys and cowgirls” in every sense of the words. Their “Sunday go-to-meeting” attire is jeans, boots and 10 gallon hats. Their call to worship is the ringing of a cow bell. They love God with all their hearts and have embraced us and “VBS Wings-style.” This is our second year doing VBS at Gloryhill. Last year it was all new to them and we led and they helped. This year GCC took the lead and our team came alongside to assist them. It is truly exciting to see something you have helped bring into being take on a life of its own.

When your Body chose to extend themselves to minister to children via VBS, you may not have considered just how far those stakes had to be set for the enlargement of your tent. Some of those kids have a lot of baggage. God bless y’all for taking on such a huge endeavor.
From Leslie Bius, Children’s Ministry Director:
We had a WONDERFUL Sunday Celebration – the house was full! We had 7 unchurched families to attend, that I can remember, who came to see a child or children! We are so excited because these are families in the horse/farming community that we are praying to reach. Pastor Sunnie shared an awesome message briefly about forgiveness and honesty. One Mom, to whom Pastor Sunnie has been reaching out for years, came forward during the commitment time, weeping.
The kids and Nikki (who led the Sing and Play station) did an outstanding job. I love the ministry of music – the words of these songs are so powerful, and for the kids to minister those songs to the Lord, the families and friends who came – what an awesome experience.
We shared “God moments” Sunday night – each worker shared something, and it was a blessing. We also had the new crew of campers from the horse camp with some from the previous week to attend, as well as the director’s parents. That was awesome! I shared a message with them from Day 2 Bible point, John 14:1, to stay buckled in their faith. They are all coming back Wednesday night, so we will have a special night for them and share a message from the VBS Bible points.
I have already started making a list of to-do’s for next year’s VBS! Pastors Mike and Sunnie say there is no way we can do it without ya’ll, but I told them that the guidance ya’ll gave this year as well as the “hand offs” really helped me to see that, “everything (even VBS next year) is possible with God!”
Nikki is ready to learn the music too! I told her she has to wait until February, or whenever Group Publishing makes it available… 🙂

In just over a week from this writing we will be leading the team to Guatemala for the children’s ministry and construction projects at Casa Shalom orphanage. We are in the middle of our discipleship program leading up to our departure. We met with Joshua and Jessica Hanson, directors of the home while at the Church of God General Assembly in Orlando this week. It seems that all is in readiness. Please pray for us as we go – that the Lord’s perfect will shall be done. A full report will follow next month. We Thank you!
